Running Industry Podcast #14 - Rupert Bonington - Mountain Fuel Sports Nutrition
Show Notes

In Episode 14 we talk to Rupert Bonington, co-owner of endurance sports nutrition brand Mountain Fuel.

Founded in 2013 Mountain Fuel is a British-based business run by a small team of individuals, with a passion for nutrition, physical activity and the outdoors (and usually a combination of all three!).

The Mountain Fuel system provides that extra energy an athlete requires whilst also providing the vitamins, amino acids and minerals your body needs to perform at its best and to recover quickly. It has been developed for individuals taking part in all types of exercise, from triathletes to hikers, from those who enjoy their weekly Park Run to 24hour ultra-marathon runners looking to break records.

Coming from a family who loved the mountains Rupert excelled at many mountain sports and he got a taste of working for himself after a number of years digitising and producing dad Sir Chris’ lectures and website. He then set up his own web business and hugely successful specialist ski company. He sold the business in 2012 and now he runs the Mountain Fuel brand, with partner Darren Foote.

In this episode Rupert talks us through his upbringing, his love of the Lake District, why he is so proud of the UK heritage of the Mountain Fuel brand AND we find out a little-known fact about Rupert's history in the 'music scene'!
